Can I tell you how much I love working with Melissa Sugulas? I probably can't because it's that much fun. As to when I met Melissa, I can't really place that either. She's one of those people that seems to have been in my life since coming to Houston and she's been a friend and client forever.
She's a terrific personal stylist to boot. Melissa gets what is the right or wrong thing to wear to all of the myriad events that we have in Houston (this assumes that there's no COVID situation happening). I've loved working with her clients over the years, creating staples that work in their wardrobe.
I'm so glad that she agreed to come Inside the Design Studio to let us know what she's advising clients during these times and to give you a little insight into what she does! And of course, if you need a little help with your own wardrobe, let her know we sent you!
How can people stay comfortable yet stylish while working from home?
I have suggested my clients get dressed every day even at home. It sets the tone for the rest of the day and if you aren’t working out, you shouldn’t be in workout clothes….. One piece looks have been easy and stylish while working from home, i.e. dresses and jumpsuits.
How did you get started doing what you do?
I worked retail for many years in high school and college, then my boss in a real estate marketing firm I worked at out of college suggested I pursue a career in Personal Styling and I took her advice and never looked back.
