Brooklyn Candle Studio was founded by Tamara Mayne in 2013. Tamara, who is originally from Virginia, moved to New York and was inspired to create the Brooklyn Candle Studio. As a self-proclaimed “fragrance obsessive”, Tamara and Brooklyn Candle Studio seeks to make captivating scents, while also being eco-friendly. One of Brooklyn Candle Studio’s most coveted lines of candles is their Escapist line. The Escapist line features different scents from different cities, such as Kyoto, Japan, Santorini, Greece and Brooklyn, New York.
BCS uses 100% soy wax from American-grown soybeans. All their products are cruelty-free, petroleum-free, phthalate-free, 100% vegan and handmade by their in-house candle artisans. These candles are made in a workshop in Sunset Park, Brooklyn and Brooklyn Candle Studio is committed to paying their employees a fair wages and benefits.
