One potato, Two potatoes, Three potatoes....Couch potatoes! Can you guess what my round up is this month?
It's never too late to start "Designing the life you love to live." So, without further ado, let me introduce my top 9 favorites this month.
Drum Roll, please.......
If you are going to be a couch potato, at least do it in style.
I have a big (I'm talking REALLY BIG) interior design project that I will be sharing with you in a couple of weeks (famous last words), which has me thinking all about couches.
A couch or a sofa can make or break a space and it can say so much about your personality. I tend to gravitate towards clean, simple lines in an interesting color or fabric. Most of my selections this month have a somewhat mid-century aesthetic to them which I feel can be mixed into a variety of different home styles.
I own this sofa and have had it for years. I love it.
A Crate and Barrel exclusive, Aidan's trim tuxedo frame gives the living room or study a buttoned-up sense of elegance while sheltering in comfort with Euro-style interior bolsters.
My version is the same as what's pictured. It's upholstered in a bespoke herringbone synthetic fabric. My favorite feature is the soft continuous button-tufted back and 2 firm seat cushions.
Liam 76" Wide Velvet Square Arm Sofa:
Liam is a little bit more relaxed than Aidan. It's a perfect blend of contemporary chic and timeless elegance from Mistana™.
This sofa is designed to fit effortlessly into compact spaces and is available in multiple colors and style options. It's a great choice for apartment living or even a garage apartment.
It's got a durable wood frame, sturdy wood legs, and thick, comfortable cushions.
After you've chosen your style online, your sofa is shipped right to your front door with all hardware included for quick and easy, tool-free assembly.
Rollins Leather Sofa | Crate and Barrel:
If you can't tell, I'm a big fan of Crate and Barrel sofas. They are a great value for the money and have lots of timeless style.
Leather sofas are not normally my thing, but the old world, luxurious top-grain leather brings a clubby feel to this mid-century inspired design. It's got a deep seat perfect for curling up to read a good book. Button tufting always makes me thing of an old world library, a place I could stay for days, especially with a good book!
Petrie Mid-Century Sofa + Reviews | Crate and Barrel:
Similar in lines to the Aiden sofa that I have, Petrie is a distinct living room sofa that sits at the intersection of mid-century and today, with clean lines and tailored cushions expertly button-tufted by hand.
It's a Crate and Barrel classic, its pure 1960s aesthetic is scaled deep so you can sit firm and upright, but also slouch back in comfort. the arms are lower than the Aiden which may make it a little more comfortable for the vertically challenged.
Well-suited to make a great impression, the menswear-inspired fabric tailors Petrie's sleek, boxy cushions and slim track arms with heathered color and soft texture.
True to its name, the Haven Leather Loft Sofa is one you'll want to spend lots of time in. Its deep, comfy seat and low, padded arms, along with smooth leather upholstery, give this sofa an incredible sink-right-in quality. This lofted version stands on shapely wooden legs.
If you've been a reader long or even just know me, you know that I have a long love affair with Gwyneth Paltrow. She doesn't know it and it hasn't reached stalker levels so you don't need to worry.
"The Curvo velvet sofa, is a nod to Italian mid-centurydesigns by way of its fluid lines." Gwyneth Paltrow
In signature goop style, the undeniably elegant form doesn't sacrifice on comfort. Velvety texture envelopes soft crescent shape perched on champagne finish legs.
I love the way it looks with practically anything, but especially the African-inspired Belsize stools.
As Gwyneth Paltrow says: "Put the couch and the stools in a room together and...magic."
Another leather sofa I don't hate! Go figure. This is the same style as the fabric Haven above, but done in a buttery leather. There's just as much comfort but the durability (and cool factor) just got pumped up a notch!
Aidan Dark Green Velvet Sofa + Reviews | Crate and Barrel:
If it ain't broke... I'm obsessed with green in interior design and a green velvet sofa is a no brainer. If I didn't already own the Aidan, I'd be tempted to get this version on the color alone!
Everly Quinn Millste 68.1" Velvet Square Arm Sleeper with Reversible Cushions:
A comfortable velvet couch that converts into a sleeper sofa. Perfect for small spaces or dorms. I like that you don't have to deal with uncomfortable springs and coils. Kinda makes me want to take a nap right now!
